How you Receive that Coffee is how you Receive that Compliment....

Good day sweet love!

Not sure what time it is for you but here in the northeast of the United States, it's early morn.

I'm thinking of you there, who likely wakes to sip and see and wondering...

The last time you had your morning coffee, or rather, morning beverage of your choice, did you actually drink it?

Like, were you there?

Did you taste it?

Did you notice its texture?

Did you bask in your senses while your hands held it?

If not, receptivity is likely an issue in many areas of your life.

As in, when you do get something good, you gloss over it without trusting it.

Or, do you think you need to be on vacation from reality to gift yourself the present enjoyment of your cup half full?

In the case of coffee, do you gulp it down without ever enjoying the one you have in such a way that your body can actually digest it?

Whatever your morning ritual is (mine happens to be journaling alongside coffee and cocoa), rather than the objects in the ritual, let your ritual be that of reception; not “coffee.”

Did you know studies show that people who live the longest have one thing in common; they take time out every day to enjoy their daily ritual.

Even if collectively that “ritual” is considered a vice; like coffee, whiskey or a cigar.

Yes, people with a ritual they look forward to receiving everyday - live longer.

Even when what they look forward to is: whiskey.

But the addict, like most of us are - doesn’t quite taste the whiskey, doesn't take time with the cigar, and uses the coffee as a tool to get us through things we hate. There is only absence in the addicted state of mind, not presence. I speak from my own experience.

The “ritual” in the addicted way of being, is glossed over, while we reserve our “reception” for cathedrals and nature.

Maybe you're simply addicted to “seeking” which distracts you from “finding.” Which is half the point of this blurb.

Whatever your morning cup of Joe may be, receive it like the people who live longer.

Don’t gloss over it like the bottomless pit of addiction causes us to do.

Wherever you are, really be there. Use your senses to explore “here.”

Doing so is a sacred prayer on its knees with life. Like Cinderella bowing to the fairy godmother, under her wand.

It’s saying, “thank you for what I have, I’m here for more it. I see it. I know what it’s like not to have it, and I humbly prepare to be blessed with more of it by your Grace.”

Life responds so hard, in the softest of ways.

Enjoy the day my love, and the day will be sure to In-Joy you back.

All my love,

Stac
